Mussar Circle
Our Mussar Circle was inspired by a weekend at Sanctuary with Alan Morinis. Mussar is a contemplative practice that focuses on strengthening the inner light in order to overcome personal obstacles and enhance our relationships with others. The practice includes meditation, chanting, study, doing mitzvot, and working with a buddy, a hevrusa. Our Mussar Circles draws upon the contemporary Mussar guidance of Alan Morinis and Rabbi Ira Stone.
Founding members of the Mussar Circle and new members are welcome! In 2010, there will be no meeting in January. Beginning February 1, 2010, the Circle will move its regular meeting night to the first Monday of each month.
There is no charge for Am Kolel members, just a suggested $10 contribution to the Am Kolel Tzedakah Fund for each meeting attended. Non-members are asked to pay an additional $80 to attend the circle. The Circle will meet approximately nine times during the year.
Meetings are at Reb David’s home: 1719 Wilmart St., Rockville, Maryland. Please RSVP to Paula at info@am-kolel.org.
